MODEL ANSWER:

I would like to talk about a recent event when I had to wait more than an hour in a very long queue.

It must have been about six months ago, and it was just before Christmas and New Year. On a Saturday morning, I went to a thriving shopping center within a short walking distance of my flat to do some necessary shopping. After I spent almost two hours picking up some trendy clothes, I went to the checkout. While shopping, I noticed that a lot of people were buying new clothes for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. As soon as I reached the checkout, I realized the queue in this shopping mall was longer than I had imagined. It was a huge shock when I saw just how many people there were. I mean, I knew that there would be a lot of people, but I never expected to see that many!

There were six checkout points, but each of those was jam-packed with customers. Although I was in a bit of a hurry, I had no choice but to join the enormous queue of people waiting. I counted the number of people who were also waiting in the queue ahead of me. There were about 30 customers and everyone was getting impatient. The cash registers and the salespersons were very busy, and most of the shopper’s carts were full.

I started surfing the Internet on my mobile phone. After about 30 minutes, I noticed that the line in front of me had become smaller. At the same time, the queue behind me had grown to more than 50! I felt utterly exhausted after spending almost one hour standing in the long queue. However, as soon as I left the crowd, I remember feeling incredibly relieved and very grateful that I didn’t have to go through the same experience every day.
