MODEL ANSWER

Talking about a time when I felt bored, I would like to relate a pretty tedious day trip I went on earlier this year. It is no exaggeration to say that this trip was like watching paint dry. It was a field trip organized by a history club. I signed up for this cultural trip to hang out with my roommate, who was a big fan of historical events. However, I didn’t anticipate how boring and dull this activity would be.

This day trip was organized to visit a cave on the outskirts of my town, in which primitive men were said to dwell five centuries ago. We set off early in the morning, but for me the drive to the destination was indeed a painstaking process. Our bus did a lot of stop-and-go driving in congested traffic, followed by winding roads in the suburban area, and finally, the hilly roads. I started feeling bored and uncomfortable even before I got to the place.

When we got to the destination, the cave disappointed me because of its dark, damp environment. Inside the cave, the tour guide gave us a lecture on its geographical features and historical significance. The gloomy and stuffy cave dampened my enthusiasm, and the run-of-the-mill speech almost made me doze off. But of course, I didn’t fall asleep, not only because it was quite impolite, but also because we were all standing out there listening to the lecture; if I fell asleep, I would fall down on the dirty ground. I tried my utmost to stop closing my eyes and remain riveted to the speech. But I was not interested in this kind of topic. This trip was one of the most monotonous experiences I have ever had.
