Hôm nay mình chia sẻ với các bạn các idioms có dùng chữ có màu sắc để sử dụng trong phần IELTS SPEAKING nhé
- out of the blue (idiom) = surprisingly or unexpectedly (bất ngờ)
E.g: She called me out of the blue.
- once in a blue moon (idiom) = very rarely (hiếm khi)
E.g: My sister lives in Alaska, so I only see her once in a blue moon.
- feel blue (idiom) = feel sad (cảm thấy buồn)
E.g: It seems that you are feeling blue.
- see red (idiom) = to become very angry (tức giận)
E.g: People who don’t finish a job really make me see red.
- off-colour (idiom) = unwell (ốm, không khỏe)
E.g: I’m feeling a bit off-colour today.
- a white-collar worker (idiom) = an office worker (người làm công việc văn phòng)
- red-letter day (idiom) = a special, happy and important day that you will always remember (ngày vui, ngày quan trọng)
E.g: My college graduation was a real read-letter day for my whole family.
- paint the town red (idiom) = enjoy yourself by going to bars and/or clubs (đi ra ngoài và tận hưởng một dịp vui vẻ)
E.g: I can’t wait to go out with my best friend and paint the town red.
